About

Oak & Stone Mental Health PC is a practice offering HIPAA compliant sessions, built on a simple conviction: people have always been themselves. The authentic self doesn’t need to be built — it gets buried, under other people’s voices, expectations, and the ways we learn to survive. Therapy here is the uncovering: meeting the parts of yourself you’ve had to disown, with compassion rather than shame, until you can hear your own voice clearly again.

Our clinicians work from evidence-based practice — including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy — joined with depth-oriented work on the shadow: the feelings and selves we’d rather not look at, which usually know the answers we’ve been missing.

We hold our clinicians to the same standard we offer clients: know what you bring into the room. That self-knowledge isn’t optional personal growth; it’s an ethical responsibility, and it’s how this practice is run.

About our founder

Dr. Beverly, DSW, LICSW-CP, TF-CBT, C-DBT

Dr. Beverly is an independently licensed clinical social worker with a Doctorate in Clinical Social Work from the University of Kentucky. Her doctoral work examined generational trauma and adverse childhood experiences in the over-incarceration of Black youth. She is certified in trauma-focused CBT and DBT, and is the author of “The Relationship Operating System: A Business-Based Guide to Bridging Emotional and Logical Thinking in Love” (2025). She founded Oak & Stone to practice the way she believes therapy works: honestly, and on the client’s side.
